Caring for silver jewelry
The silver from which Atelier Objectora jewelry is made is 925/1000 fineness.
Silver has a slight tendency to oxidize, it is its natural process and it is not a defect. Silver is also a relatively soft metal, so it is advisable to follow a few steps to keep the jewelry looking its best.
To keep your jewelry beautiful for many years, follow the advice below.
Avoid moisture: Remove your jewelry before swimming, showering, or other activities where it could come into contact with water, as prolonged exposure to moisture can cause damage or discoloration of the silver.
Storage : Store jewelry in a dry, closed place, ideally in a soft cloth bag or jewelry box, to prevent scratches and exposure to moisture.
Cleaning : Gently clean the jewelry with a soft cloth. For a more thorough cleaning, use a silver cleaning cloth.
Careful handling: Avoid wearing jewelry during activities that could damage it. Be careful with chains!
Silver has a tendency to oxidize, especially if it is left in an inappropriate place for a long time. Therefore, the best thing to do is to simply wear it :)
This guide is meant to help you preserve your jewelry, not limit you from wearing it. Jewelry is meant to be worn, it should be a part of you, don't be afraid of slight scratches and oxidation - imperfections are part of life and that's okay :)
Caring for steel and gold-plated jewelry
Gold plating is always just a surface treatment of the material. Therefore, handle gold-plated jewelry with care, as the gold-plated surface can wear away over time if subjected to excessive friction.
Remove jewelry while showering and swimming. Avoid direct contact with perfumes, creams, or cleaning products. Store jewelry in a soft pouch or jewelry box.
Non-gold plated surgical steel jewelry can really last a long time and is also affordable. If you are the "I wear jewelry until it breaks" type, this material option is the best for you :)
Stones and Pearls
Many of my jewelry pieces contain natural stones or pearls. Some stones, especially pearls, are soft and can lose their shine and beauty over time if not handled and stored properly.
You can wipe stones and pearls with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh cleaning agents, especially with pearls, as they are porous and sensitive.
Store jewelry with pearls or softer stones such as opals, labradorites, and moonstones separately from other jewelry to avoid scratching the surface of the stone. Pearls are particularly delicate, so give them their own space.
